Organizers of the Hollywood Fringe Festival are proud to announce the 2017 Town Hall & Workshop series, a collection of free community events designed to assist venues, participants, and other community members to prepare for the 2017 Festival. The events are primarily informative and feature specialized discussions that cover everything festival participants need to know to produce a successful Fringe show. All of the events will be followed by social mixers.

2017 Town Hall and Workshop Schedule:

For those that can't attend the meetings in person, the events will be recorded and posted on the FringeTV YouTube Channel.

The eighth annual festival will take place June 8th-25th after a week of Previews (June 1st-6th) and an Opening Night Party on June 7th. The Hollywood Fringe is one of the largest celebrations of the performing arts in the country. It sold over 56,000 tickets in 2016 and gave back all $447,000 to participating artists and venues.

More than Just a Festival

Hollywood Fringe organizers work year-round to create a platform for artists and to motivate its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts. This is done through professional development opportunities, networking events, diversity programs and initiatives, and special events.

Professional Development & Networking: Aside from the Town Hall and Workshop series, there are also many other events that are free and open to both artists and the community including: Office Hours (casual meet-ups at different bars around Hollywood that offer a weekly chance to network with other Fringers), Twitter Chats, and special events and parties during the festival.

In an effort to add and improve events that will benefit participants, Hollywood Fringe introduced the Fall Creative Workshop series in 2015. The Creative Workshop series is devoted to creative development and the writing process. All of this is done with a special focus on fostering diversity and cutting-edge points-of-view, especially within the local community.

Diversity Programs & Initiatives: Fringe Scholarships, created in 2016, exist to expand and diversify the pool of artists producing work at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. This program offers 10 Hollywood Fringe producers free registration for one Hollywood Fringe production, 3 free performances at a Hollywood Fringe Scholarship venue, a Fringe mentor, and marketing and networking opportunities as a member of the Fringe community. Scholarships are available to first-time Hollywood Fringe producers who self-identify as contributing to the ethnic, cultural, racial, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability diversity of the Fringe community. Scholarship applications are being accepted until February 10, 2017. For more information and to apply visit www.hollywoodfringe.org/scholarships.

Fringe partners with City of West Hollywood's One City One Pride Festival, which also takes place in the month of June. Any Hollywood Fringe participant show with LGBTQ themes that books at least one performance in a West Hollywood venue is eligible for a complimentary HFF registration (valued at $250), courtesy of a grant received from the City of West Hollywood. They will also be included in the One City One Pride Festival. These scholarships will be made available through a lottery taking place in April 2017, announced by the City of West Hollywood and administered by the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
