Hello Again! The Songs of Allan Sherman, conceived, written & produced by Linden Waddell, with musical direction and accompaniment by Marjorie Poe, directed and choreographed by Janet Miller, is playing the Asylum @ Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre as part of Hollywood Fringe this weekend, Saturday, June 24, at 11:30 am.

Those who lived through the 60s surely remember TV producer/writer AllanSherman...as a singer! He was an overnight success in 1962 when he put out his first album of folk songs. What was hilarious was the fact that he had a terrible voice. His popularity came through his parodying the lyrics of popular songs. Thus, the descriptive subtitle of this little show Hello Again! featuring Linden Waddell and which plays the Hollywood Fringe Festival*, is a musical romp featuring the genius of Allan Sherman's parody lyrics.

Sherman was fat, wore glasses and Jewish. Most musical composers were Jewish, but, as he noted, they never sang about Jewish culture or just plain being Jewish. He grabbed onto this curiosity and through the parodies gave the world his unique perspective of celebrities, politics, pop.culture and the curse of being overweight.
