Green Light Presents One-Acts by Women in GLO 2014, Now thru 11/9

After 12 years in New York and Philadelphia, Green Light Productions has relocated to Los Angeles. Green Light is dedicated to producing and developing new plays by women. For Green Light's first west coast production -- GLO (Green Light One-Acts), the company accepted submissions from only Los Angeles-based women playwrights. The response was overwhelming and after a careful selection process, Green Light selected four plays that are not only incredibly well-written but also funny, powerful, sharp and entertaining. Green Light is thrilled to be in Los Angeles, supporting women in theatre and producing high-quality productions for our audience.

GLO 2014 will feature four witty new plays written & directed by Los Angeles women at The Miles Memorial Playhouse- 1130 Lincoln Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90403 at 7pm tonight, November 6 and November 7 and 8th and 2pm on November 9th. Femme Noir by Allie Costa

In 1944, a notorious playboy hires Ruby Russell, a female P.I., to solve a murder.

Allie Costa works in film, TV, and theatre as a writer, director, actress, and singer. Her play Little Swan, a Pas de Deux was named Best of PlayGround-LA 2014 and subsequently published.

Julianne Homokay is a Los Angeles-based playwright, the Co-founder/Managing Director of North By South Theatre Los Angeles and also works on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson."

Buying a House by Jennie Webb

A dark comedy about money, women and place, in that order.

Jennie Webb is a resident playwright at Rogue Machine (Yard Sale Signs), Theatricum Botanicum (Botanicum Seedlings) and co-founder of the LA Female Playwrights Initiative (LA FPI).

Alex Dilks Pandola is a writer/producer, founder and Artistic Director of Green Light Productions, and the Director of Development at the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra.

ABOUT GREEN LIGHT - Green Light Productions was founded in 2003 by producer Alex Dilks Pandola to develop new work by women and to examine where women are today and how we got here, through theatre. After producing over 100 plays written by women in Philadelphia and NYC we moved out west and settled in Los Angeles. GLO 2014 is our first production in LA.

Past productions include a multi-year theatrical tribute to WOMANHOUSE, the historic feminist art and performance installation, that premiered at The Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Other productions include the Philadelphia premiere of Neil LaBute's Fat Pig, modern adaptations of Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession and Ibsen's Hedda Gabbler, fifteen GLO plays and an abundance of short plays that were part of an annual performance series called New Light.
