Conductor Vassily Sinaisky leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic and violinist Nikolaj Znaider at Walt Disney Concert Hall in three performances, Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15, at 8 p.m., and Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m. All three concerts feature Znaider playing Edward Elgar's Violin Concerto, described by the composer as "...good! Awfully emotional! Too emotional, but I love it!" Also on the program for the Thursday and Saturday concerts is Peter Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.

The Friday concert is part of the LA Phil's Casual Fridays series, which features a shorter program, is presented without intermission and encourages audience members to attend in comfortable attire. These Casual Fridays concerts also feature a free TalkBack discussion with musicians held on stage after the performance and a chance to mingle with members of the orchestra in the Concert Hall Café.

Vassily Sinaisky is Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow. He has also held the post of Chief Guest Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic since 1996, and Principal Conductor of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Sweden since 2006. He made his Los Angeles conducting debut with the Moscow Philharmonic and pianist Van Cliburn in 1994. His Los Angele Philharmonic debut came in February 2007.

Nikolaj Znaider is not only celebrated as one of the foremost violinists of today, but is fast becoming one of the most versatile artists of his generation, uniting his talents as soloist, conductor and chamber musician. He made his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut in December of 2008, and made his conducting debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl in July of 2010. The young musician plays the same Guarneri del Gesù violin with which Fritz Kreisler, gave the premiere of Elgar's Violin Concerto in November of 1910.
