Casa 0101 Theater and Latino Equality Alliance Present National 'Coming Out' Day in Boyle Heights, 10/11

In celebration of National "Coming Out" Day on Thursday, October 11, 2012, Casa 0101 Theater, Josefina López, Artistic Director, in collaboration with the Latino Equality Alliance will present a special performance of the theater's currently playing critically acclaimed production of The 2nd Annual BROWN & OUT Theater Festival, produced by Miguel Garcia, featuring 10 World Premiere short plays focusing on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning and Queer Latino/a experience.

The evening will Kick-Off with Pink Carpet Arrivals and a Pre-Show Reception at 7:00 p.m., followed by a performance of the show at 8:00 p.m., concluding with a Post-Show Q&A with the cast, directors, and writers, and a Post-Show Reception. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Latino Equality Alliance.

Tickets are $20 per person for General Admission; $17 per person for Seniors; and $15 per person for Students/Boyle Heights residents. Advance reservations are highly recommended. Tickets for the Thursday, October 11th performance include admission to the show, the Q&A following the performance and both receptions. Theatre patrons can get a $2 discount by presenting their Metro Bus Cards at the Box Office when buying tickets. Metro bus stations are located on First Street in Boyle Heights at both Soto Street, and at Boyle Street (Mariachi Plaza), within a short walking distance to the theatre. Event attendees are encouraged to arrive early to have their photos taken on The Pink Carpet.

We welcome the opportunity to work with the Casa 0101 Theater based in our own community in highlighting our LGBTQ stories and presenting them in a way that honors our culture and provides important insight on the struggles of our LGBTQ youth," she added.

Casa 0101 Theater's 2nd Annual BROWN & OUT Theater Festival runs through October 21, 2012.
