The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport announced today that they will host a fourth annual Medals4Mettle presentation on Saturday, January 5, 2012.

The Bethpage Youth Theater Series presentation of RUDOLPH will be the featured performance and tickets for the 11:00 am matinee show are complimentary for patients, their siblings and parents from the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University Hospital and the Department of Pediatric Oncology of Stony Brook University Hospital. Before the show, a special medal presentation will be made by RUDOLPH to approximately 20 families in recognition and appreciation of their "marathon" through cancer.

Medals4Mettle is a non-profit organization founded in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2005. Its mission is to celebrate and reward the individual and collective courage of all human beings by facilitating the gifting of marathon finisher's medals to people who have demonstrated similar mettle, or courage. Marathon runners from around the world donate their medals to Medals4Mettle and a nationwide network of physicians and others award these medals to those who might not be able to run a marathon, but are in their own marathon to continue to live their life.

Coordinated through the efforts of Greenlawn resident, Robin Blosser, the Greater Long Island Running Club donates many of the medals which are presented to the patients. "I am thrilled about bringing smiles to the faces of these very special children again this year," says Blosser.
