The Long Island theatre scene will unquestionably be a hopping one this Summer. One of the most exciting seasons is being offered by Northport's John W. Engeman Theatre. Their current season culminates with Plaza Suite (May 29th - July 13th). Then their 8th season starts soon after with a stellar line-up that includes Evita, Deathtrap, A Christmas Story, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, A Chorus Line, and The Producers.

Oakdale's Creative Ministries Performing Arts Center - a.k.a CM PAC - has a wonderfully diverse season coming up. Spring Awakening begins May 30th followed by Singing in the Rain beginning June 27th and Kiss me Kate beginning August 2nd.

Hauppauge's SoLuna Studio has some intense productions for their upcoming Summer season. They have selected bare as their July production and Rent as their August showing.

Theatre Three of Port Jefferson has had a particularly wonderful season. Their season usually starts in the fall and ends in the springtime. This year so far, Theatre Three has offered an enchanting production of LES MISERABLES, their customary A Christmas Carol, and Starting Here, Starting Now. Up next for Theatre Three is Master Class beginning June 7th.

The Smithtown Centre for the Performing Arts (SCPA) also has a great season. Their twelfth season actually kicked off in December. Next up for SCPA is Peter Pan, The Musical beginning June 28th.

Sag Harbor's the Bay Street Theatre, has an exciting season that includes a couple of world premieres. The first production for Bay Street is the world premiere of Conviction by Carey Crim running from May 27th to June 15th. The second production for their season stars Richard Kind in the Tony Award winning comedy Travesties running from June 24th to July 20th. And to close out their season, Bay Street presents the world premiere of My Life Is A Musical by Adam Overett running from July 29th to August 31st.

Patchogue's Gateway theatre company has several superb staples for their upcoming season. 42nd Street starts their season beginning May 21st followed by Smokey Joe's Café beginning June 11th. Both productions will be done at their Gateway Playhouse located in Bellport. They then head down the street to the Patchogue Theatre for Disney's Mary Poppins beginning July 2 and South Pacific beginning July 23. They conclude their season back at the Gateway Playhouse with the crazy and kooky Addams Family beginning Aug. 27.

Finally, the BroadHollow Theatre Company also looks to have an exciting season ahead. They offer One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest starting May 17 followed by Murder Among Friends beginning June 14. BroadHollow ends their season with what I am sure will be a memorable production of Cats. These will be running at BroadHollow's BayWay Theatre and their Elmont location.

Over at BroadHollow's Studio Theatre in Lindenhurst, they have Months on End beginning May 31st, Ruthless, the Musical beginning June 28th, The Elephant Man beginning August 9th, Mrs. Parliament's Night Out (a new Norm Foster comedy) beginning September 13th, and finally Death of a Salesman beginning October 25.

Whew! I am going to be a very busy bee this Summer! I look forward to traveling all over Long Island bringing you all the wonderful talent the Long Island theatre folks have. Happy Summer!
