CM Performing Arts Center is set to present sensory friendly performances for young theater goesrs with special needs.

CM Performing Arts Center is located at 931 Montauk Highway, Oakdale, NY 11769.

The My Christmas Elf performance will take place Saturday December 5 2015 at 11:00 AM. The Flat Stanley performance will take place Saturday, February 27 at 11:00 AM.

The sensory friendly performance includes the following acoomodations:

• The House lights will remain on during the performance, rather than completely off.

• The volume of the performance will be reduced.

• There will be a sensory area available in the lobby for children who need to take a break from the show. Coloring sheets and stress sensory toys will be available for children to borrow as needed.

• A relaxed and inclusive atmosphere where patrons can feel comfortable during the performance and enter of exit the theater during the show.

• Tablets and smart phones are permitted.

• A social story and character guide is available to assist families in preparing for a live theater experience.

• Each performance will run approximately 60 min. without intermission.

• Children will be free to sing, talk and vocalize as they wish.

• Parents / chaperones are welcome to provide snacks (i.e. cheerios, Goldfish, Pretzels, etc.) and water to bring into the theater.
