Independence, Kan. -- The William Inge Center for the Arts, in association with the inaugural Astra Arts Festival, is offering attendees the opportunity to audition for a chance to perform a duet with nationally renowned pianist, Jim Brickman.

The winner will be invited on stage at Brickman's Friday, July 3, 2014 concert at Independence Memorial Hall to perform the duet in front of a live audience. Brickman, deemed the most commercially successful pop pianist of the last two decades, has been awarded two Grammy Award nominations and sold 7 million albums. His performance and duet with the contest winner in Independence, KS will kick off the Astra Arts Festival.

In order to be considered, contest applicants must create a YouTube video of themselves singing a number of their choice. They must then fill out the form located here: http://www.astrafest.org/contest/. The form requires a legal first and last name, valid email address and phone number, and will prompt the contestant to insert the link to their YouTube video. Submissions are accepted until June 15, 2014.

The duet winner will be announced June 20, 2014.
