Olathe Civic Theatre Association (OCTA) has announced its 2016-17 season five-show lineup, which will kick off August 26, 2016.

The season brings edgy comedies, original work, and an award-winning Off-Broadway musical.

"OCTA continues to grow as a place that provides new and seasoned talent with a forum in which to nurture and produce projects they are passionate about," Ted Collins, OCTA Board President, said. "This season may be our most enterprising yet with an original play and some shows not often seen in the Kansas City area."

The 2016-17 season lineup is:

But when fate brings them to New York, will the boyz take a bite out of the forbidden apple?

By Richard Bean
Directed by Rick Bumgardner
In this madcap comedy, the permanently ravenous fish-and-chip eating Francis Henshall finds himself working for both a gangster and a criminal in hiding, both of whom are linked in a web of schemes, extortions, and romantic associations. To prevent discovery, Francis must do everything he can to keep his two "guv'nors" apart.

The beloved Young Adult book of the same name comes to life in this hilarious Christmas classic. The Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on for nonstop laughs.

By Robert Flaherty Hart
Directed by Tina Morrison
