The Festival Playhouse presents Let Me Hear You Smile
By Harry Cauley and Leonora Thuna
Directed by Charles Ault

"Let Me Hear You Smile" opens February 11 and plays Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. & Sundays at 2 p.m. through February 20.

This is the story about three people - a husband, a wife, and her brother - living life in reverse.
In Act I our actors are in their 70's. Neil, the husband, has retired and is about to leave home to start a new business in New Zealand. The second Act opens and our three actors are now in their 40's. Hannah, the wife, is prepared to leave her husband and run away. In Act III all are now young children, and brother Willy is going to dig a hole and move to China.

Showing us life in reverse (ala Benjamin Button), "Let Me Hear You Smile," was a play before it's time and is truly one of the most endearing comedies of this period in American Theatre. "Let Me Hear You Smile" played on Broadway in 1973, for one performance only, and starred James Broderick, Sandy Dennis and Paul B. Price.

Charles Ault, Sr. started The Player Guild in 1936 as a means to put food on the table in the middle of the depression. A love for the theatre and a creative mind brought a group of talented community actors and actresses together to provide the public with live entertainment. This concept was passed on to his son Charley Ault, Jr. who now runs The Players Guild, beginning its 75th year of production.
