Bravo! Vail today announced the contract renewal of Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott for an additional three years, ensuring the continuation of the music festival's momentum and artistic development through the 2016 season. McDermott, a concert pianist and recording artist who performs extensively worldwide, was appointed artistic director in 2011. During each successive summer season, Bravo! Vail has flourished and achieved unparalleled success under McDermott's artistic leadership, experiencing a rapid period of growth across all programs, especially its acclaimed Chamber Music Series.

"I am so proud and privileged to be part of this spectacular organization," said Anne-Marie McDermott, artistic director, Bravo! Vail. "It is a thrill to be continuing in my role as artistic director, in collaboration with our extraordinarily supportive Board, an administrative team second to none, led by our executive director James Palermo, a wonderfully enthusiastic audience, three of the finest orchestras in the world, and a locale that exhilarates in its sheer beauty. My commitment is stronger than ever in continuing to make Bravo! Vail a magical experience through a combination of stimulating programming, musicians whose passion and quality inspire, and one of the most sensational locations I know. I greatly look forward to the next three years!"

"Anne-Marie McDermott is recognized worldwide for her musical integrity and virtuosity, and in a relatively short time has elevated the profile of Bravo! Vail - not only building on the successes of our orchestral concerts, but expanding Bravo! Vail's reach into the community through free events and the launch of the popular Silver Oak & Twomey Series," said James W. Palermo, President and Executive Director, Bravo! Vail.

As a soloist and chamber musician, McDermott is highlighted during Bravo! Vail's 27th season, which opens today in Vail, Colorado. McDermott will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major, K. 595 with The Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Donald Runnicles, on July 7 at Vail's Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, in a concert that also features the Brahms Symphony No. 3. McDermott will also perform on several Bravo! Vail Chamber Music Series concerts including "McDermott and Members of the Philharmonic" on July 15 at Vail's Donovan Pavilion, and "Baroque Concertos and More" on August 2at Beaver Creek's Vilar Performing Arts Center. In addition, McDermott will perform Bach's Keyboard Concerto in D minor, BWV 1052, in a concert that also features members of The Philadelphia Orchestra on July 8.

McDermott's recent concert appearances include Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the New York Philharmonic and the Vancouver Symphony conducted by Bramwell Tovey, and a performance of Schumann's Piano Concerto with the Sao Paulo Symphony at the Cartagena Festival. In 2013, McDermott gave special performances of works by American composer Charles Wuorinen in New York and Washington in celebration of his 75th birthday. She has appeared in solo recitals throughout the U.S., and in duo recitals with longtime duo partner, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. McDermott also continues her collaboration with the OPUS ONE Quartet and violinist Ida Kavafian, violist Steven Tenenbom, and cellist Peter Wiley. McDermott recently appeared on tour in Europe with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, including appearances at London's Wigmore Hall.

McDermott's award-winning recordings include the complete Prokofiev Piano Sonatas, Bach's English Suites and Partitas, solo works by Chopin, and Gershwin's Complete Works for Piano and Orchestra with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. In 2013, she released a disc of Mozart Concerti with the Calder Quartet, which was praised by Gramophone as "exceptional on every count." Her latest recording with Denmark's Odense Symphony Orchestra - a two-disk set featuring Haydn concerti and sonatas - is slated for release in late 2014.

In addition to her role with Bravo! Vail, McDermott is Curator for Chamber Music at the Mainly Mozart Festival. She also serves as artistic director of the Ocean Reef Chamber Music Festival in Florida, and The Avila Chamber Music Celebration in Curaçao. McDermott studied at the Manhattan School of Music and was winner of both the Young Concert Artists auditions and an Avery Fisher Career Grant.
