Prior to the season's opening in June, general auditions will be held Jan. 23-24. The 2016 Shakespeare in the Park season opens with She Stoops to Conquer, and will be directed by guest director Mason York. Although he is the son of a rich Londoner, Kate realizes she will have to pretend to be 'common' for Charles to fall for her. A practical joke leads to misunderstandings that must be resolved before Kate's plan can succeed. Richard III is the second production in the 2016 Shakespeare in the Park season, directed by guest director Stefan Novinski. As the commoners begin to loathe their ruler, a challenger to the throne invades England and promises a new era of peace. The 2015 Shakespeare in the Park season closes with The Tempest, directed by Artistic Associate Rene' Moreno.
