In 1941, a kiss was just a kiss, a sigh was just a sigh, and a sailor and a dame could really fall in love. Then came December 7th and Pearl Harbor. Could love survive the War of the Pacific? The answer is Written In Time, by Dallas playwright Matthew J. Edwards, presented by Rover Dramawerks. Written In Time makes its world premiere at the Cox Building Playhouse (next to the Courtyard Theater), 1517 Avenue H, in Plano, Texas tonight, May 17, 2012 and will run until June 9 with shows starting at 8:00 p.m. Thursday-Saturday evenings, and a matinee at 2:00 p.m. on May 26.

The play tells the story of 1940s-era Angelica Sullivan and her Navy Lieutenant sweetheArt Richard “Stretch” Lucas, through their love letters which are discovered by granddaughter Angie. The play intertwines wartime events with modern-day Angie’s reactions to the story that unfolds between the couple, even as Angie is faced with her own struggle to find love.

Written In Time will be under the direction Carol M. Rice, with Robbi Holman as Assistant Director/ Stage Manager, Jason Rice as Sound Designer/Master Carpenter, Erica Rémi Lorca and Lindsey Humphries as Set Designers. Suzi Cranford will handle costume design, while Shanna Gobin will handle hair/makeup design. Soren Haroldson is the Lighting Designer and Terrie Justus will oversee props.
