Dance Council of North Texas (DCNT) announces an Adaptive and Inclusive Dance Workshop for Instructors and Healthcare Workers Sunday, June 8 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. The workshop will be held in Meadows Hall of the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX. 75219. Cost of the one-day workshop is $65.00 for non-members and $55.00 for current DCNT members. Lunch is included in the fee. The vision of DCNT's Adaptive Dance Program is to introduce persons with disabilities to the joy and vitality of dance and movement. DCNT's Adaptive Dance Committee has gathered an extremely experienced and gifted quartet of Adaptive Dance Specialists to lead this stimulating and thought-provoking workshop: Misty Owens, Melissa DeGroat, Suzy Rossol Matheson, and Michele Owens. DCNT's Adaptive and Inclusive Dance Workshop is designed for dance and school educators, creative arts therapists, occupational and physical therapists, and anyone who has had experience with or is serious about learning to teach inclusion-based arts. Participants will gain knowledge, confidence, and skills to work with persons with special needs through lectures, demonstrations, movement experiments and much more. Group discussions and sharing sessions will be included in this workshop.
