Amphibian Stage Productions Screens National Theatre Live's MACBETH Today

Amphibian Stage Productions previously announced an additional offering in its National Theatre Live screening series for 2013, presented in association with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

A new production of Macbeth, starring Kenneth Branagh as Macbeth and Alex Kingston as Lady Macbeth, broadcast from the Manchester International Festival, will screen today, November 6 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. This broadcast follows the previously announced screenings of The Audience and Othello in the fourth season of this critically acclaimed series.

Distributed internationally by BY Experience, National Theatre Live is an initiative to broadcast live performances from The National Theatre's stages to cinemas worldwide. In Fort Worth, the screenings are presented exclusively at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, courtesy of Amphibian Stage Productions. Fort Worth screenings of National Theatre Live began in the fall of 2011.

Helen Mirren reprises her Academy Award-winning role as Queen Elizabeth II in the highly-anticipated West End production of The Audience, broadcast live from London's Gielgud Theatre as part of National Theatre Live.

For 60 years Elizabeth II has met each of her 12 Prime Ministers in a weekly audience at Buckingham Palace - a meeting like no other in British public life - it is private. Both parties have an unspoken agreement never to repeat what is said. Not even to their spouses. The Audience breaks this contract of silence - and imagines a series of pivotal meetings between the Downing Street incumbents and their Queen. From Churchill to Cameron, each Prime Minister has used these private conversations as a sounding board and a confessional - sometimes intimate, sometimes explosive.

From young mother to grandmother, these private audiences chart the arc of the second Elizabethan Age. Politicians come and go through the revolving door of electoral politics, while she remains constant, waiting to welcome her next Prime Minister.

The Audience reunites writer Peter Morgan and Academy Award-winning actress Helen Mirren following their collaboration on the critically acclaimed movie sensation The Queen. The Audience is directed by Academy Award-nominated director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) and presented in the West End by Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions, Robert Fox and Andy Harries.

The National Theatre presents a major new production of William Shakespeare's celebrated play about the destructive power of jealousy. Olivier Award-winning actor Adrian Lester (Henry V at The National Theatre, BBC's Hustle) takes the title role. Playing opposite him as the duplicitous Iago is fellow Olivier Award-winner Rory Kinnear (The Last of the Haussmans, James Bond: Skyfall), who is reunited with director Nicholas Hytner (Timon of Athens, One Man, Two Guvnors) following their acclaimed collaboration on The National Theatre's recent production of Hamlet.

Othello, newly married to Desdemona, is appointed leader of a major military operation. Iago, passed over for promotion by Othello in favor of the young Cassio, persuades Othello that Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair.

National Theatre Live will broadcast Manchester International Festival's electrifying production of Macbeth, with Kenneth Branagh (My Week With Marilyn, Hamlet) in his first Shakespeare performance in over a decade as Macbeth, and Alex Kingston (Doctor Who, ER) as Lady Macbeth.

Directed by Olivier- and Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford (Anna Christie at the Donmar Warehouse, Thoroughly Modern Millie on Broadway) and BAFTA Award-winner Kenneth Branagh, this unique production of Shakespeare's tragic tale of ambition and treachery unfolds within the walls of an intimate deconsecrated Manchester church.

Tickets to National Theatre Live screenings are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students. Members of Amphibian Stage Productions and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth receive an additional $5 discount. National Theatre Live is The National Theatre of Great Britain's initiative to broadcast live performances from the National's stages to cinemas worldwide. Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre starring Helen Mirren, over half a million people have now experienced the National's acclaimed work on movie screens around the world.

National Theatre Live performances are filmed live in high definition and broadcast via satellite to almost 400 cinemas around the world, live in Europe and some US cities, and time-delayed in countries further afield. There are over 100 venues in the UK alongside venues in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Scandinavia, and Europe. The performances at the National are nominated in advance to allow cameras greater freedom in the auditorium.

Amphibian Stage Productions is a non-profit theatre company founded in 2000 by three alumni of TCU's Department of Theatre who strive to produce innovative and engaging works of theatre that challenge the way we see the world around us. Now in its fourteenth season, Amphibian has produced numerous groundbreaking and challenging plays (some regional premieres, others US or world premieres) that foster a deeper understanding of ourselves as members of the global community. The company is widely recognized for its stylistically and thematically varied scripts.

Committed to nurturing young and diverse audiences, Amphibian has developed a strong internship program, a summer acting workshop for teens, and a dynamic outreach project, Tad-Poles, that is steadily increasing the company's visibility and following.
