The Play

Originally developed and produced at the Denver Center Theatre, this play with music, is a joyous and moving celebration of American womanhood. It became a record-setting regional theater success before moving to Broadway and Edinburgh Festival. It was nominated for 5 Tony awards in 1985.

QUILTERS Combines music, dance and scenes of vivid dramatic intensity. This beautiful play with music pays tribute to the courage and spirit of our nation's pioneer woman. Based on the book "The Quilters, Women and the Domestic Art, an Oral History" by Patricia Cooper and Norma Bradely Allen QUILTERS is a moving story that brings to life Westward move and the rural homesteads at the turn-of-the-century. The quilts are a metaphor for family and history, a vital part of woman's art in the life of this country.

QUILTERS "is a show pieced together with love and stitched with pride...a thing of beauty, comfort and joy." -NY Post.
