Remy Bumppo Theatre Company presents Polish playwright Tadeusz Slobozianek's noted and controversial play, Our Class. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at a scene from the play below!

Our Class, the first drama to win Poland's prestigious Nike Literary Prize, is a fictional look at the 1941 massacre of Jews in Jedwabne, Poland, and its aftermath, as seen through the eyes of ten classmates. It is based on the 2000 book Neighbors by Princeton historian Jan T. Gross, which revealed that the atrocity was carried out not by Nazis, as originally believed, but by Poles themselves. The book and the play set off intense debate in Poland.

Our Class, in an English version by Ryan Craig, directed by Remy Bumppo Producing Artistic Director Nick Sandys, runs through May 11 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. Tickets for the April 17 performance and all others are available at www.RemyBumppo.org or by calling the Greenhouse at 773-404-7336.
