Metropolis presents the biographical rock & roll musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story July 18 August 31, 2019. Buddy tells the true story of Buddy Hollys meteoric rise to fame from the moment in 1957 when Thatll Be the Day hit the airwaves until his tragic death less than two years later on The Day the Music Died.

This rocking musical features several of Buddy Hollys greatest hits including Thatll Be the Day, Peggy Sue, Everyday, Oh Boy, Not Fade Away, Raining on my Heart, and many more. Also featuring memorable hits from other stars of the era, including Ritchie Valens La Bamba and The Big Boppers Chantilly Lace. The incredible but all-too-brief legacy of the young Texan with glasses, whose musical influence revolutionized the golden days of Rock & Roll, continues to live on in Buddy.

Metropolis cast for Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story includes Travis Shanahan as Buddy Holly, and Roy Brown, Jack Morsovillo, and Kelan M. Smith as The Crickets. Other cast members include Jordan Burns, Ross Creighton Childs, Luis David Cortes, Gabriel Fries, Nicole Frydman, Jessica Miret Garcia, David Gordon-Johnson, Sara Haverty, Bre Jacobs, Brian Kulaga, Rachel Livingston, Austin Nelson, Jr., Lauren Romano, Josh Pablo Szabo, and Jasmine Lacy Young. Understudies include Matt Tatone. Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story is by Alan Janes.

Directed by Metropolis Executive Artistic Director Joe Keefe, Associate Directed by Robin M. Hughes, Music Directed by Kenneth McMullen, Choreographed by Allyssa ODonnell. Designers are Will Coeur (Lighting/Video Designer), Eric Luchen (Scenic Designer), David Moreland (Technical Director), Rachel S. Parent (Costume Designer), Finlay Ross (Sound Designer), and Bob Silton (Properties Designer). Metropolis Production Manager is William A.
