First Floor Theater is proud to announce their 2016/17 season, a bold selection of cutting-edge comedies by all female playwrights, featuring one world premiere, two Chicago premieres, and the return of their annual LitFest. First Floor will be moving to The Den Theatre as a resident company for their fifth season.

The season opens with the world premiere of Emily Zemba's DEER AND THE LOVERS, a bold new farce about being lost in love, lost in the woods, and forging a new path when life veers off track. directed by Company Member Jesse Roth. Next winter brings the Chicago premiere of PEERLESS by Jiehae Park, a searing new comedy about twin sisters who will stop at nothing to get into the college of their choice, directed by Artistic Director Hutch Pimentel. Closing out the mainstage season is the Chicago premiere of Bess Wohl's AMERICAN HERO, a supersized dark comedy about life, liberty, and the pursuit of sandwiches, directed by Cody Estle. Next summer, FFT's Annual LitFest returns, promising new work from celebrated Chicago playwrights based on the life and work of a classic author, to be selected by the attendees of FFT's fifth season kick-off party.
