The Franklin Stage Company announces a surprise addition to its 20th season programming. On Friday August 19th at 8pm and Saturday August 20th at 2pm, FSC hosts the NYC-based theatre company Loop Troupe with a rehearsed reading of their new play Wisenheimer's Master Plan, an original comedy that is deeply inspired by three classics, Molière's School for Wives and Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Tempest. Loop Troupe's mission is to bring the public entertaining, thought-provoking and critical work that examines our modern life, and the company shares FSC's interest in classic and classically-inspired texts. In their plays, Loop Troupe sets classical themes, structures, and character archetypes within a modern context.

Many Loop Troupe members have worked with the Franklin Stage Company's Executive/Artistic director Carmela Marner in classes and productions at SUNY-Oneonta, and in productions and readings at FSC. Most recently, Loop Troupe member Josh Santiago directed the rehearsed reading ofKing Lear. Wisenheimer cast members Brad Michalakis, Taylor Weinberg, Rosalee DeHuff and Chris Mackin all appeared in that reading. Loop Troupe warns audiences that there is adult language in this play.

FSC is located in Chapel Hall at 25 Institute Street in Franklin. Programming is made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
