Tom Judson, lately best known as musical director and accompanist to the legendary Charles Busch, will present Mostly From the Movies, a rare solo evening of cabaret at Pangea on Monday evening, May 8 at 7 PM. Drawn from his encyclopedic knowledge of classic films and film music, Tom has assembled a playlist of standard, lesser-known and positively obscure songs, all of which were introduced in films, both musicals and dramatic films. So Moon River will be heard alongside a pair of Judy Garland numbers, and an Al Jolson tune will be followed by the theme from In Like Flint. Two wild card tunes NOT from the movies will be thrown in for good measure.

Accompanied by Mark Verdino on bass, the audience can also expect a cameo appearance by the aforementioned Mr. Busch as he and Tom premiere a duet from their upcoming fall show.

Tom Judson has fingers in many showbiz pies, including acting (Cabaret on broadway, 42nd Street on tour) composing (Whit Stillmans Metropolitan, songs for Ann Magnuson and Lisa Kron) writing (Canned Ham, Laid Bare: Essays and Observations, various magazine columns) and even gay films (Gus Mattox). For the past five years he has been happily employed as musical director/accompanist/second banana to the legendary actor/writer Charles Busch, with whom he has appeared in over 20 cities and four countries.
