The acclaimed Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series at the Arthur Newman Theater in Palm Desert will be back for it's fifth season beginning Sunday, April 6th. With more than 125 shows so far, series producer Les Michaels of Life Is A Cabaret, says, "the audience praises and support grows every year with record-breaking ticket sales", jokingly adding, "Of the 60 plus performers wanting dates, all 29 spots were taken in only 12 hours from the time they were announced - so I guess we're doing something right".

Opening the season is New York City singer Shirley Ritenour, who picked April 6th for her show, entitled "How To Handle A Woman", to coincide with the Dinah Shore Weekend. It will have songs from popular standards to the Broadway stage with special arrangements and accompaniment by noted musical director, and Palm Springs resident, Christopher Marlowe.

Shirley's appeared from Carnegie Hall to Madison Square Garden to every cabaret venue from Manhattan to Fire Island. Her concerts for charitable causes have given her the opportunity to reach a broad array of audience who appreciate both her voice and command of several genres of music.

"How To Handle A Woman" starring Shirley Ritenour, will play one performance on Sunday, April 6, 20134 at 2 PM at the Arthur Newman Theater at The Joslyn Center, 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert. Tickets are $11 cash only at the door with open seating and the box office opening at 1 PM. For a complete schedule of all 29 shows, go to www.lesmichaels.com/joslyn.
