Rebecca Naomi Jones, Ciara Renee & More Set for NAMT's Songwriter Spotlight Concert at 54 Below, 8/25

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) will present its Songwriter Spotlight concert at 54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, on August 25 at 7pm.

Nick Blaemire (Godspell), Hanna Cheek (Goodbar), Drama Desk Nominee Carrie Cimma (Lizzie Borden), Katrina Rose Didericksen (Hairspray), Lortel Nominee Rebecca Naomi Jones (Murder Ballad), Eric William Morris (Mamma Mia!), Drama Desk Nominee Jeremy Morse (Bloodsong of Love), Mary Kate Morrissey (Tamar of the River), Ryah Nixon (Fat Camp), Ciara Renée (Pippin), Paul Thureen (The Debate Society), Jason SweetTooth Williams (Nine Wives) and Tony Nominee Lauren Worsham (Gentleman's Guide) will perform.

The concert will highlight songs by Joe Iconis (NAMT Fest '11- Bloodsong of Love), Kyle Jarrow (NAMT Fest '09- Hostage Song) and NAMT Fest '10 show Lizzie (by Steven deCheslik-Meyer, Alan Stevens Hewitt and Tim Maner), along with a sneak peek at new songs from Iconis and Jarrow.

A portion of the proceeds will support NAMT, a not-for-profit organization, whose programs include the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, which will take place on October 23-24 at New World Stages.

NAMT's Festival of New Musicals has showcased 220 shows by 420 writers over the last 25 years. Musicals NAMT has helped develop include Children of Eden, The Drowsy Chaperone, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Songs for A New World, Honk!, See Rock City and Other Destinations, Ordinary Days, The Memory Show, Nobody Loves You and Ruthless!.

This concert is produced and directed by Branden Huldeen with Line Producer Jesse Rothschild.
