It's time to go MAC to School! The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) is pleased to announce our first-ever Cabaret Bootcamp weekend. It's a two-day cabaret event filled with workshops, classes, seminars, mingling, food, drink, and MAC swag!

Have you always dreamed of what it would be like to perform your own cabaret show on stage, but never knew where to begin? MAC to School weekend offers classes that will inspire you and teach you how to get started, beginning with the very popular Cabaret 101 seminar that will focus on getting your cabaret career started, the Technically Speaking workshop, which will teach you about mic technique, and how to "find" your light, and the Musically Speaking workshop, where you will learn the language of music necessary to properly speak to the person at the piano.

Are you a seasoned performer or already have some experience singing on a cabaret stage and want to learn how to take your act to the next level? We have classes that will study more advanced topics such as Cabaret: NYC and Beyond, in which highly successful artists such as Natalie Douglas, Marissa Mulder, Barbara Fasano, and Eric Comstock will teach how to explore opportunities beyond NY. Or Meet The Press, a seminar that will explore the ins and outs of dealing with the NY Cabaret press, led by Cabaret Scenes Editor-in-Chief Frank Dain, along with Sandi Durell (Publisher/Editor of TheaterPizzazz.com), publicist and public relations specialists Betsyann Faiella and Richard Skipper, and cabaret reviewers r Mark Dundas Wood (BistroAwards.com) and Billie Roe (Broadwayworld.com).

MAC to School weekend lets you study with the masters. Learn about songwriting from Grammy award winner Julie Gold, take a vocal performance workshop with the award-winning Patrick DeGennaro, and participate in a masterclass with Broadway, recording, and Cabaret icon Karen Mason.

Are you Broadway friendly but jazz curious? Our class, All That Jazz: Finding Your Inner Ella, with Mary Foster Conklin and Dan Furman, will teach a basic introduction to what you need to know to start singing jazz. You can study fitness and yoga for singers in a workshop led by Dawn Derow, or Dress to Get Yes! in the Psychology of Color workshop led by Bobbie Horowitz.

After the first day of classes, relax with other MAC to School students on Saturday night at Club Mac, our own private piano bar at world-renown cabaret club Don't Tell Mama, and have Sunday lunch on us to mingle with your fellow MAC to School students.
