LOUISA, REQUESTED, February 6 at 11:30PM:

Louisa, Requested is a musical cabaret revue show with a twist: it's all improvised. Louisa, a semi-washed up Broadway diva, is back in her old stomping ground for one night. Singing through her "repertoire" of original, legendary show tunes and ballads, Louisa will lead the audience through a (totally improvised) journey of her monumental career. Featuring... Lulu Krause, a comedienne and singer who has been at it since she was six. An alum of the prestigious musical theatre camp, Stagedoor Manor, Lulu has composed an original musical in addition to a number of singles for her mo-town band. A former cast member of ComedySportz Philadelphia, Lulu has been performing both straight and musical improv for four years. After moving to New York and completing the Upright Citizens' Brigade training program, she began performing with a variety of independent improv teams all around the city. She has continued her musical improv training and performing at the Magnet Theater, and sings occasionally with a jazz band in Brooklyn. Frank Spitznagel is the Musical Director at Magnet Theater and a piano accompanist who frequently plays for such improv groups as I Eat Pandas, Veal, The Made-Up Musical, Gusto, and many others. He is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, where he studied piano performance. His work can be heard on several studio recordings. Frank has composed for Comedy Central and the Aspen Comedy Festival. He accompanied Itzhak Perlman in an original jazz composition by Benny Golson at Lincoln Center. He also played the American premiere of The Hired Man Off-Broadway. He has been musical director for productions such as Nunsense (all incarnations), A Chorus Line, Chicago City Limits, and several original musicals. $10 cover charge. $25 premium seating. $20 food & beverage minimum or two drinks.

@ACTOR_FRIEND @54BELOW, February 7 at 11:30PM:

After a sold out performance in September, #SOBLESSED: Live! returns to 54 Below for a special winter engagement benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fight's AIDS! Starring a bunch of really awesome people you love that will be announced later, #SOBLESSED: Live! is the concert adaptation of #SOBLESSED, a satirical tell-all describing the life of the modern day actor in New York City, written by Internet personality, Annoying Actor Friend (@Actor_Friend). #SOBLESSED: Live! features performances and stories associated with actors' experiences in college, pounding the pavement, on tour, Broadway and even while on unemployment. It will be nothing short of the type of experience you would expect from Annoying Actor Friend. Complete with interactive liver-murdering drinking games, profanity, hashtags, prizes, and the celebration of self deprecation, this event is sure to embody the essence you've grown to love or hate - but it won't matter anyway because you'll be so wasted you won't remember a thing the next morning. So come on down to 54 Below to party for the good of BC/EFA! We're not going to say @Actor_Friend will be there, but we're not NOT going to say @Actor_Friend is going to be there. #grateful. Hosted by Lesli Margherita (Matilda), #SOBLESSED Live! will feature performances by Jeremy Jordan (The Last Five Years, "Smash"), Wesley Taylor (The Addams Family, "It Could Be Worse"), Michael James Scott (Something Rotten!, The Book of Mormon), Keala Settle (Les Miserables), Adam Kaplan (Newsies), Megan Sikora (Like A Million Broadway Shows), Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), Ellyn Marie Marsh (Kinky Boots) and MORE AWESOME PEOPLE WHO MAY JUST SHOW UP. The evening will be music directed by Drew Wutke. $25-35 cover charge. $50 premium seating. $20 food & beverage minimum or two drinks.
