Jacob Langfelder presents Broadway the Hardway's "FREEDOM -- An Immersive Concert Celebrating the Music of George Michael and WHAM!" on Monday, March 30th at 8pm at 42West (514 West 42nd Street).

The concert experience will star Broadway's John Arthur Greene (Matilda) with Emmy Award Winner Lance Horne, Kristin Olness (Cabaret), and The Glamazons (America's Got Talent) with additional casting to be announced. Tony Award Nominee Michael Moritz Jr. will music direct. Broadway The Hardway was created by Jacob Langfelder and Burt Rock.

This one night only tribute to the music George Michael and WHAM! will span his catalogue from the breakout classics Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go and I Want Your Sex to the rough trade dance hit Outside. The evening will feature immersive video graphics on a 34 foot LED wall curated by JD Urban and Burt Rock as well as Shibari (Japanese suspended rope bondage) by Marcus Likesit.

Strobes, flash, and fog will all be used in this epic evening.

BIOGRAPHIES:

Singer/Songwriter & Broadway Actor, JOHN ARTHUR GREENE, currently stars in the Tony & Grammy award winning show Matilda as the Doctor and u/s Mr. Wormwood. Other film and Broadway credits include Robert Mullins/Islander in NBC's Peter Pan Live and Riff in the Broadway revival of West Side Story Off-Broadway he played Johnny in The Johnny, Luke in Mim and Action in the European Tour of West Side Story. Music 4 Autism's 2010 - 2013 Spotlight Artist of the Year recipient, Greene works with Music 4 Autism to provide concerts and an outlet for special needs kids through music. Greene also hosts the open mic music night at the Bowery Poetry Club the last Sunday of each month, inspiring new and seasoned artists to take big risks. His debut EP "Shadows of Light" is set for release in March featuring songs including the popular "Brooklyn", "Crazy", and "Devils Bar."

LANCE HORNE has performed alongside and/or composed for Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Ricki Lake, Cheyenne Jackson, Kelli O¹Hara, Jake Shears, Meow Meow, Justin Bond, Sandra Bernhard, Amanda Palmer/Dresden Dolls, and Boston Pops; appeared on Sirius Radio and the Macy¹s Thanksgiving Day Parade; opened for Death Cab, Michael Feinstein, Dwight Yoakam; performed for President Obama, the First Lady, and Queen Elizabeth; West End appearances at the Vaudeville, Hippodrome, Garrick, and Apollo, multiple performances at Carnegie and Zankel Hall; participated in David Bowie¹s Highline Festival, Toronto¹s Luminato festival, and Lincoln Center¹s American Songbook.

MICHAEL MORITZ JR. is an internationally renowned music director, Tony nominated Broadway producer and record producer for the theatrical industry for over a decade. Best known for his work on major Broadway productions including the Tony nominated and Grammy Award winning Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Broadway), On The Town (Broadway), Big Fish (Broadway), A Night With Janis Joplin (Broadway), The Velocity of Autumn (Braodway), and Evita (US National Tour). He has produced numerous albums to acclaimed success including Ahrens and Flaherty¹s Nice Fighting You, Norbert Leo Butz¹s Memory and Mayhem, Sierra Boggess¹s Awakenings, Bebe Neuwirth¹s Stories in NYC, and Aaron Tveit¹s Radio In My Head.

Under the auspices of Langfelder, 42West has transformed into midtown's new 14,000 square ft, blank canvas. In its first year, the multimedia, multipurpose events and performance space has featured Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Meryl Streep, Jessie Mueller, Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski, Anthony Rapp, Sierra Boggess, The Skivvies, Chaka Kahn, Tony Yazbeck, Jeremy Jordan, LaChanze and many more.
