In his 54 Below debut, Brian will deliver an evening of theatrical gems from the rich history of popular music, stage, and screen such as "Maria," "Finishing the Hat," "La Vie En Rose," and "Music of the Night." You will be delighted by a few gender-bending surprises, as well as some joyfully comedic medleys, that will leave you wondering whether or not what you're hearing is real! Accompanying Mr. Rooney will be musical director Spencer Crosswell.

Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 4:00 are only available by calling (646) 476-3551.

In a critically acclaimed performance that Entertainment Weekly said "ignited the stage," Brian Charles Rooney made his celebrated Broadway debut as Lucy Brown in "The Threepenny Opera" for The Roundabout Theatre Company. Since then, Brian has made a name for himself as a quick-witted, versatile singing actor, whom critics have lauded as "hilariously riotous," with "a dazzling range... who sings at times like a man, at times like a woman, and at times like a man singing like a woman, depending on what is required... In a word: fun!" He won the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for Best Actor in a Musical as Candy Darling in "POP!" at Yale Repertory, as well as the NY Musical Theatre Festival's Outstanding Performance Award as Dionne Salon in "BEDBUGS!!!" He recently appeared as a featured soloist in Martin Charnin's new theatrical revue, "Rodgers &...," a retrospective of Richard Rodgers' monumental body of work. His Television credits include "Camelot, Live from Lincoln Center" & "Sondheim! The Birthday Concert" (both for PBS). In 2007, Brian won The Kurt Weill Foundation's Lys Symonette Award for Dramatic Excellence. Brian has appeared in concert at Joe's Pub, The Zipper Factory, The Laurie Beechman Theater, and as a soloist with the Oregon & Seattle Symphony Orchestras.
