Birdland Jazz Club has announced its schedule for June 20-26, featuring Alexandra Silber, Freddy Cole, Pucci Amanda Jhones and more!

Al(exandra) Silber's Casual Monday

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is thrilled to announce that Grammy nominee and Broadway star Alexandra Silber will perform on the historic stage on Monday, June 20 at 7pm. In her intimate evening, she will celebrate the CD release of Arlington, a new musical written by Victor Lodato and Polly Pen.

All tickets $30, $10 food/drink minimum

Jim Caruso's Cast Party

Jim Caruso's Cast Party is a wildly popular weekly soiree that brings a sprinkling of Broadway glitz and urbane wit to the legendary Birdland in New York City every Monday night. It's a cool cabaret night-out enlivened by a hilariously impromptu variety show. Showbiz superstars, backed by Steve Doyle on bass, Billy Stritch on piano and Daniel Glass on drums, hit the stage alongside up-and-comers, serving up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle.

Freddy Cole

The New York Times calls Freddy Cole, "the most maturely expressive male jazz singer of his generation, if not the best alive." People Magazine praises his "gorgeous autumnal baritone, expressive phrasing and pitch-perfect feel for jazz standards, pop tunes and love ballads." Uncle to Natalie Cole, brother of Nat "King" Cole, pianist and vocalist Freddy Cole doesn't apologize for sounding a little bit like his iconic elder brother. While there are certain unmistakable similarities, many consider his voice to be smokier, jazzier even. Cole's annual visit is the perfect blend of jazz and great American holiday standards.

David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band

Inspired by the noble jazz pioneers Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton and their colleagues, David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band breathes life and passion into America's own great art form. Now in its 14th year of residency at Birdland, the weekly post-workday engagement is the city's best musical bargain! Tuba player David Ostwald leads a rotating lineup that features talents such as clarinetist Anat Cohen, trombonist/vocalist Wycliffe Gordon, pianist Ehud Asherie, drummer Marion Felder and more!

Pucci Amanda Jhones in "The Lady and Her Style"

Pucci Amanda Jhones is magical! She captures your attention in the style of which she tells a story through song. Pucci, stands 6'1, a former model that once strutted her stuff internationally on the catwalks in Paris. Pucci is a graduate from the New School University of New York and holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Classical and Contemporary Music, tonight she returns to Birdland, with the legendary Bertha Hope piano, Multi Grammy Nominee Bobby Sanabria, with the Illustrious Eric Lemon, on Bass performing songs from her new CD Love Jhones,

Joelle Lurie

Joelle Lurie is a NYC-based singer, songwriter, and voice-over artist. She brings her distinctive "jazzed-up pop & popped-up jazz" modern style to "Take Me There," her debut album of standards, originals, and reimagined pop covers. Featured on NPR's Song Travels with Michael Feinstein, Joelle's record features tight arrangements and production by her longtime bassist/bandmate, Ben Gallina, and the genre-crossing Pinehurst Trio.

Arturo O'Farrill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra

Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill -- leader of the "first family of Afro-Cuban Jazz" (NY Times) -- was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte.
