Deadline reports that Christopher Walken and Lenny Kravitz will co-star in LITTLE ROOTIE TOOTIE from writer/director Dan Algrant. Grammy winner composer Terence Blanchard will score original music for the film.

Walken will portray a "veteran jazz pianist who is mourning the death of his wife." Kravitz will take on the role of his son who "returns home with his own wife, disrupting the couple's careers as musicians in Europe to deal with the brilliant Sonny as his behavior becomes manic and destructive. The trio tries to present the illusion of a functioning family, as the eccentricities inherent in being working musicians leads them tumbling toward a tragic but impactful conclusion."

Filming on the project is set to get underway on location in New York City in January.

Walken, whose recent film credits include A Late Quartet and Seven Psychopaths, has appeared on Broadway in A Behanding in Spokane, James Joyce's The Dead, Hurlyburly, Sweet Bird of Youth, The Merchant of Venice, The Plough and the Stars, Enemies, The Unknown Soldier and His Wife, The Rose Tattoo, The Lion in Winter and Baker Street.

His off-Broadway credits include The Seagull, Him, Othello, Love Letters, Coriolanus, The House of Blue Leaves, Cinders, Kid Champion, The Tempest, Trolius and Cressida, The Tale of Cymbeline, Lemon Sky, Iphigenia in Aulis and Best Foot Forward.

He is currently filming the big screen adaptation of Broadway's hit musical 'Jersey Boys.'
