Boulder International Film Festival to Celebrate 10th Year Anniversary

Taking home the bronze in MovieMaker Magazine's Best Places to Live and Work as a MovieMaker, Boulder prepares to transform into a mountain-backdropped Hollywood the weekend of Feb. 13-16 for the 10th Annual Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF).

"We couldn't be more thrilled with this year's lineup, of films and weekend activities," said Robin Beeck, BIFF Executive Director. "From our opening night premiere to our closing ceremony, we've infused a celebratory tone into every aspect of the festival, commemorating our ten years here in Boulder and all that Boulder has to offer the film industry."

Opening Night includes a red-carpet gala, two parties at the iconic Boulderado Hotel Ballroom and the Rembrandt Yard Event Center & Art Gallery, and a highly anticipated Colorado premiere. A cast of film characters, donned in professional makeup will interact with the crowd and lead event guests in a New Orleans-style "Second Line" to the Boulder Theater for the screening of Fading Gigolo, a comedy directed, written by and starring John Turturro.

On Friday, Feb. 14, the FOOVIE Fundraiser will appeal to film enthusiasts, foodies and philanthropists alike as this first-ever BIFF "food and a movie" event combines a romantic French menu, a screening of Le Chef, and a chance for someone to walk away with a $10,000 pair of earrings by designer Todd Reed. This deluxe package delivers a perfect Valentine's evening, and all proceeds will benefit year-round programs at the Colorado Film Society.

To cap the weekend of celebrations, an extra special Closing Night will not only feature live music, treats and gift bags, but the regional premiere of the hot new documentary film Tim's Vermeer. A "Best of the Fest" awards ceremony with hand-crafted Bill Viehler award sculptures will round out the evening, and the 10th Anniversary celebrations.

Individual tickets are $12 per film and discounted tickets are available for seniors 65 and older. Festival passes are on sale for $450 each.
