Bar of the Week: FC GOTHAM in the Meatpacking District

FC Gotham is our "Bar of the Week." Some sports fans can be rambunctious. But not everyone wants to squeeze into a crowded bar with a can of beer and eat snacks. FC Gotham is a distinctive place that is by no means a typical sports bar.

FC Gotham is a sports haven inspired by the comfort and warmth of the old British soccer clubhouse. Located in the Meatpacking District at 409 West 13th Street, this spot is ideal when you want to enjoy watching your favorite team.

FC Gotham spans 3,000 square feet, where guests can watch their favorite team play on one of the 28 flat screen TVs and choose from 25 beers that are offered. A variety of areas throughout the underground location offer groups the feeling of watching the game from their own personal "man cave." Guests can get comfortable on leather couches, control the remote and have personal pool table access.

Chef Carmine Di Giovanni has created a menu that elevates everyday sports fare like the FC Gotham's Hamburger($19) with a custom blend of dry aged prime, special sauce, lettuce, tomato and fries. His Fried Hot Dogs ($12) have six hour chili and are served with house-made slaw.

Owner Shawn Kolodny commented about the venue. "We felt the market was in need of a more sophisticated sports offering. We wanted to attract all football fans, both American and Euro, so we created FC Gotham as a little more of a clubhouse than a bar. Our guests love it."
