We visited Dopo East on the Upper East Side for dinner on a Sunday night, a wonderful place to unwind. This elegant Italian restaurant features an inviting atmosphere with gracious service and delicious fare. Dopo East will make you feel as though you visited Tuscany without ever leaving the city.

Whether you and your party are in the chic dining area, year-round garden room or enjoying an event in their exclusive wine room, we highly recommend Dopo East. This exceptional restaurant is brought to you by the same team as Trattoria Dopo Teatro which was located in the theater district for more than 15 years.

And Dopo East's recently appointed Executive Chef Giuseppe Moschiano presents a menu with a variety of taste sensations for everyone in your party. Sommelier, Gianni Onofri insures that you will have an excellent pairings for each of your courses. Onofri has recently spearheaded the creation of the new private wine room that boasts over 700 unique labels. While the wines are predominately Italian, guests can enjoy vintages from around the world.

Menu choices offer the finest in regional Italian cuisine with an emphasis on traditional fare. Healthy choices are inspired by locally sourced produce, organically grown vegetables, hormone free meats and fresh seafood. Breads are baked in house and homemade pastas also highlight the menu.

Start your meal with a delightful salad like their Insalata Di Cesare ($14), a perfectly presented classic. For an appetizer, we suggest a house specialty, Polpo e Patate ($18), tender sautéed octopus with fingerling potatoes and baby spinach.

Meat and seafood dishes including branzino, lamb chops and rib-eye steak are just as temptingly prepared as the pasta entrees. Cannelloni Di Grancio ($22) has a crabmeat filling and is finished with lobster-cherry tomato bisque sauce. Lasagna Tradiziaonale is as good as any lasagna you have ever had and their Fettucine Al Funghi ($21) with wild mushrooms will surely satisfy all pasta lovers.

Top off your meal with one of their desserts like the luscious Tiramisu, a cappuccino or an aperitif. Dopo East is the place where you can enjoy the finest food and drink, a leisurely meal with your favorite company.

Dopo East is open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. There is live piano music Friday and Saturday evenings. Reservations are highly recommended. The space is also available for private parties and business meetings and is equipped with video screen and audio capabilities.
