The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center presents what could easily be the gayest night of comedy ever. One of the stars of LOGO's The Big Gay Sketch Show (Julie Goldman) teams up with the cult superstar "The Gay Pimp" (Jonny McGovern, also of The Big Gay Sketch Show) at the Center's Renberg Theatre tonight, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. Net proceeds will benefit the full range of the Center's free and low-cost programs and services.

The show includes solo standup sets by both comedians. Each will also perform some outrageous trademark musical numbers, and there's talk of a joint musical number to cap the evening. Both Goldman and McGovern have been hailed as leaders of the next generation of queer humor.

Julie Goldman also has three TV comedy specials under her belt, which viewers have seen on LOGO, Showtime and Comedy Central. She has appeared on Fox's Bones, RuPaul's Drag U, and NBC's The New Normal. Not only will Goldman be in an upcoming episode of ABC's Happy Endings, but she is a recurring character in LOGO's newest series, DTLA.

You can catch Goldman on the wildly ridiculous web series In Your Box Office (www.inyourboxoffice.com) with her highly inappropriate creative and writing partner, Brandy Howard. Fans are eagerly anticipating their two new Web shows with Tello Films.

Goldman is a favorite at pride celebrations, women's festivals and Olivia Travel events, as well as a headlining solo standup performer all over the country.

TV personality, nightlife superstar and standup comedian Jonny McGovern is known for his comedy music videos as his naughty-yet-gay-empowering character, "The Gay Pimp" (originally created as an answer to homophobic rap lyrics). His latest music video, the hilarious "Dickmatized," had a quarter million views in one week.

McGovern has been making hit gay videos from before the invention of YouTube, starting with the worldwide viral satirical video hit, "Soccer Practice." The video was downloaded more than 5 million times from GayPimp.com and inspired countless young gay men to be as out and proud as "The Gay Pimp" himself.

McGovern starred on Comedy Central's Out On The Edge with Alan Cumming; numerous VH1 and MTV specials, including Totally Gayer and My Coolest Years; and Tru TV's Smoking Gun. He was also a correspondent on the final season of the ever-classy Ricki Lake Show. He was handpicked by Rosie O'Donnell as a cast member on The Big Gay Sketch Show (three fabulous seasons).

McGovern is the host of the insanely popular, long-running podcast "Gay Pimpin' with Jonny McGovern" (also featuring Julie Goldman; downloadable for free on iTunes). He spends much of his time performing stand-up all over the country. His latest CD is The Gayest of All Time, a collection of comedy-filled club bangers. The five music videos from "TGOAT" collectively garnered millions of views and attention from countless blogs around the world.

Julie & Jonny, starring Julie Goldman and Jonny McGovern, plays the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Renberg Theatre (200-seat mid-size theatre) in The Village at Ed Gould Plaza 1125 N. McCadden Place, Hollywood (one block east of Highland, just north of Santa Monica Blvd. Free parking) on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 8 p.m. Tickets: $20: General Admission Tickets available at lagaycenter.org/theatre or call 323-860-7300.

The L.A.
