The Grove Theatre announces a new passion play, The Kingdom, A Rock Musical, opening Friday, April 25th and running on weekends for 6 performances only through Sunday May 4th.

Starring Richard Bermudez as Jesus (Joseph, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), The Kingdom is a high energy, Rock, Hip-Hop, Gospel & Pop version of the Passion of Jesus Christ (think Jesus Christ Superstar), that focuses on the trial, execution & resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.

Through dramatic storytelling, dynamic modern music, authentic costumes and realistic sets, this gritty retelling of the greatest story ever told brings to musical life the last week of Jesus of Nazareth. Although The Kingdom chronicles the story of Christ's trial and crucifixion, it's an ultimately uplifting tale that focuses on love, hope and human compassion.

Performances are on Friday and Saturday at 7:29 pm and on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 and $25 for adults, $15 for children and students, with senior and group discounts and can be purchased by calling (909) 920-4343, or by visiting The Grove box office or website at www.grovetheatre.com. The Grove Theatre is located at 276 E. Ninth Street, Upland, CA 91786.

Box Office Hours (except holidays) are Tuesday - Friday: 11:30 am - 4:00 pm and Saturday: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm; open one hour before performances.
