On Monday, May 10, 2010, New Repertory Theatre will hold its 2010 Gala-our biggest party and fundraiser or the year! Funds raised support New Repertory Theatre's efforts throughout the year, including in-school performances with our program New Rep On Tour.

"New Rep's Gala supports so many facets of New Rep's mission," comments Dan Newton, New Rep's Board Chair. "One area in particular is the highly acclaimed New Rep On Tour program. This season alone, New Rep On Tour went to nearly 50 schools and reached over 14,000 students!"

Mr. Newton adds, "Last year at this time, we introduced Kate Warner, New Rep's new Artistic Director. It's hard to believe that she's finishing up her first season. We are thrilled to have her with us and are looking forward to her 2nd season at New Rep. Kate, together with Harriet Sheets, New Rep's Managing Director; bring a level of strong leadership to the organization that will ensure New Rep's continued excellence."

The evening begins at 5:30pm with a VIP Reception under the tent at the Commander's Mansion, which is located at the Arsenal on The Charles campus. Our VIP guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, champagne, music, and will be able to mingle with New Rep's performers at the beautifully appointed mansion property.

From 6:00pm to 7:30pm, the Party and Auction will kick into high gear, as guests bid on fabulous silent auction packages, dine on sumptuous food from our local restaurant partners (Edelweiss, Fiorella's, Il Casale, Grappa, Sensational Foods, and Stellina Restaurant), and enjoy live music.

Some of the exciting silent auction packages that guests can bid on are: tickets and backstage passes to A Little Night Music on Broadway starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Lansbury, a week at one of more than 50 RCI International Resorts around the world., and A Day at Fenway including four tickets to the game in the private State Street Pavilion Club, four tickets for a Fenway Tour, and free parking at the Park.

From the Party, guests are shuttled across the Arsenal on the Charles Campus to New Rep's home in the Arsenal Center for the Arts. Artistic Director, Kate Warner, is creating a show that is sure to be the highlight of the evening with numbers from Hot Mikado, as well as a "sneak peek" of next year's season.

At the performance, New Rep will pay tribute to its friends at Bank of America, who have supported its Education outreach efforts for 10 years.

"The show is going to be marvelous," states Kate Warner, Artistic Director. "Our guests will get a ‘sneak peek' of our Summer Show, Sophie Tucker: The Last of the Red Hot Mamas, and our upcoming season. They will also see some memorable scenes from this season's current musical, Hot Mikado."

The evening's show will include the cast of Hot Mikado performing "Three Little Maids" and "The Mikado Song;" Mary Callanan singing "Some of These Days" and "After You've Gone" from Sophie Tucker: The Last of the Red Hot Mamas; Aimee Doherty and Timothy John Smith performing "Climbing Uphill" and "If I Didn't Believe in You" from The Last Five Years; special appearances from New Rep favorites Marianna Bassham (Picasso at the Lapin Agile, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Quills), Will Lyman (Exits and Entrances, The Clean House, and The Ice-Breaker), and Robert Pemberton (Speed-the-Plow); and the grand finale, "Blues Revelation/Freight Train," from Passing Strange will be performed by all.
