The Wetumpka Depot Players are hauling out the holly and mistletoe in preparation for a full slate of holiday activities for the entire family. The award winning community theatre will present two Christmas productions geared for young audiences and their families!

Families are invited to join Fancy Nancy and friends in a very fancy holiday celebration for Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas. The show will be performed on November 29 at 2pm and 4:30pm as well as December 1 at 9am. Directed by Kristy Meanor, the production features some of the Depot's most talented cast singers and dancers of all ages.

What could be fancier than Christmas? Presents with elegant wrapping paper, festive decorations, Christmas cookies with sprinkles - and who could forget the tree? After all, there is no such thing as too much tinsel. Ooh la la! This year, Nancy is especially excited. She bought a brand-new sparkly tree topper with her own money and can't wait to decorate the Christmas tree. But when things don't turn out the way Nancy planned, will Christmas still be splendiferous?

In addition to Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas the theatre will host Crossstich Productions for their original production of The Holiday Bug on December 16-18th at 7pm and Saturday December 19 at 10am.

The Holiday Bug is a puppet performance perfect for all ages. The cable puppets are designed and constructed by a team of master puppeteers. The Christmas themed production is recommended for ages 7 and up with plenty of clean entertainment for the adults too. Written by Depot alumni, Austin Thompson, The Holiday Bug tells the story of Hiram and Gertrude Wool, two sheep trying to get ready for the Holidays. While Gertrude is helping the orphans by donating money and baking cookies Hiram is doing everything in his power to save money and make Christmas very special for himself, alone. Unfortunately, due to Hiram's stinginess and corner cutting antics he inadvertently infests his home with a nefarious insect known to all as the "Humbug." The Wool's are joined in their quest to save their home by Mr. Berg, a rabbit pirate dressed pest control employee, and Carl the Caroling Cowboy armadillo. Hiram will learn the importance of selflessness and caring for one's fellowman...or sheep.

Tickets for both of these productions may be purchased atwetumpkadepot.com or by calling the box office at 334.868.1440. The Wetumpka Depot Players theatre is located at 300 S Main Street in historic downtown Wetumpka.
