STOMP, the international percussion sensation, returns to the McCallum Theatre for three performances, Friday, March 1, at 8:00pm and Saturday, March 2, at 2:00pm and 8:00pm. From its beginnings as a street performance in the UK, STOMP has grown into an international sensation over the past 20 years, having performed in more than 50 countries and in front of more than 24 million people.

The Baker's Dozen, Theatre 29's resident improvisation troupe, have set the standard for improvisational comedy, craziness, mayhem and good old-fashioned gut-busting laughter. Now they are back, with a new attitude, a new look and a trimmed down layout that will be faster, funnier and more inventive than ever before. After months of preparation and great anticipation, The Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre (CVRep) has announced it will open their newly renovated, 208 seat, Cathedral City playhouse with the dynamic musical, CHESS - Music by Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of the Rock Group ABBA Lyrics by Time Rice and Book by Richard Nelson. 

Michael Childers' star-studded musical production of One Night Only Broadway Showstoppers will be presented on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 @ 6:30pm, at the McCallum Theatre. This year's show benefits Barbara Sinatra Children's Center. In SHOWSTOPPERS, twenty celebrated performers will come together for an evening of all your favorite songs from the greatest musicals. One Night Only will be directed by famed Broadway choreographer and director Larry Fuller, with music direction by Christopher Marlowe.

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's blockbuster hit musical Evita celebrates the 40th anniversary of its 1979 Broadway debut. Staged by Andy Ferrara with musical direction by Lloyd Cooper, the tour brings together talent from around the country to perform one of the best-known musicals in history.The McCallum Theatre presents the 2019 touring production of Evita, with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, for three performances - Wednesday, February 27, at 8:00pm, and Thursday, February 28, at 2:00pm and 8:00pm.

The McCallum Theatre presents the 20th Anniversary Tour of Rent for five performances, Friday, February 8, through Sunday, February 10. In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway and forever changed the landscape of American theatre. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson's Rent continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. I had the chance to chat with Lencia Kebede who plays Joanne in this current production, as the tour is making its way to The McCallum, about her personal journey and her journey with Rent. Here are a few excerpts from that conversation.

The McCallum Theatre presents L.A. Theatre Works' production of Steel Magnolias on Monday, February 25, at 7:00pm. Strong as steel and delicate as magnolias. The six women of Chinquapin, Louisiana, face life's ups and downs together in this beloved comedy/drama. Truvy's home beauty parlor is their gathering place, where they gossip, needle, and jab each other through the best of times and comfort and repair one another through the worst. Based on the hit Off-Broadway show that became a star-studded motion picture in 1989, this is a funny, poignant tale of female friendship and the unbreakable mother-daughter bond.

 McCallum Theatre Education is excited to announce the 2019 OPEN CALL TALENT PROJECT! Dedicated to presenting local, non-professional artists, Open Call has gone on to become one of the most popular events in the valley. This annual sell-out show is an audience favorite and fun for the entire family.

Weaving back and forth between the past and present, a bus, a wealthy suburban home and a down-and-out urban apartment, Bruce Graham's White Guy On The Bus delivers a searing montage of elements about America's current racial and economic divide. Directed by Michael Shaw, it is the hardest-hitting drama of the 11th Season from the award winning Dezart Performs of Palm Springs. White Guy On The Bus is "a scalding take on race" (The New York Times) "a play with guts. This one goes right for the jugular" (The Chicago Tribune). The play runs March 1 - 10 at the Pearl McManus Theater (at the historic Palm Springs Woman's Club / 314 S Cahuilla Road, Downtown Palm Springs).

The McCallum Theatre and Jim "FITZ" Fitzgerald co-present Keiko Matsui on Saturday, February 23, at 8:00pm as part of the Fitz's Jazz Cafe at the McCallum series. A producer, contemporary jazz pianist and composer, Keiko Matsui's career spans three decades, over twenty CDs, and numerous continents receiving international acclaim. Her music transcends geographic, generational, and musical boundaries and her unique melting pot of musical influences have garnered her a devout international following. 'Music has no borders and it creates a oneness among people,' confides Matsui. 'There have been many occasions when I have felt like music saved me. There is a connection between my fans and I, and together in my music we are sharing harmony.'

The McCallum Theatre presents The Lettermen on Sunday, February 24, at 3:00pm. Eighteen international Gold records and scores of top singles, including "The Way You Look Tonight" and "When I Fall in Love," attest to The Lettermen's enduring popularity.The Lettermen Are Tony Butala, Donovan Tea and Bobby Poynton.  The vision for The Lettermen was of three strong soloists with the showmanship to entertain an audience, and the discipline needed to be group singers. The sound they came up with was a sound between the big band vocal groups and the early R&B groups.

The McCallum Theatre presents Catskills on Broadway on Friday, February 22, at 8:00pm. The Catskills Mountains of New York, the cradle of American humor, launched the careers of many of our greatest comics. In this new version of the 1991 Broadway hit, Freddie Roman, Sarge, and Mark Schiff will have you laughing at good old-fashioned comedy that brings back the golden years of the Catskills. Freddie Roman, creator and star of Catskills on Broadway, adopted the attitude that if Broadway couldn't come to the mountains, he would take the mountains to Broadway. Catskills on Broadway was a new format for the Broadway community and the production earned Freddie acclaim and a stint on the Tony Awards broadcast.

Theatre 29 proudly announces primary casting for the spring production of the 2019 20th Anniversary season, "Oklahoma!". Helmed by the team of multi award-winning Artistic Director Charles Harvey and Musical Director Kathryn Ferguson and Choreographer Robyn Rogers, this tale of star-crossed lovers, a charming cowboy and a winsome farmer's daughter in the wild frontier of what will become America's 46th state in the early twentieth century will take the stage for four weeks beginning March 8th through 31st.

The internationally acclaimed and award-winning production is known as the pioneer of live tribute shows, and possesses the greatest collection of live tribute artists in the world. These incredible artists have pitch perfect live vocals, signature choreography, and stunningly similar appearances to the legends they portray. "Legends in Concert" is known for elaborate theatrical sets, magnificent costumes and a full array of special effects. An outstanding cast of accomplished tribute artists, talented ensemble of singers and dancers, and a live five-piece band comprised of some the industry's top musicians, bring the musical experience to life.

A popular Welsh singer with an attractive rich, dark voice, who came to prominence in the UK in 1979 when her recording of 'He Was Beautiful (The Theme From The Deer Hunter)', entered the Top 20. Her version of 'He Was Beautiful', backed by the BBC Midland Light Orchestra, generated such a favorable response that she recorded it immediately. The success of the record led to a series of television appearances and concerts at top venues, including the London Palladium. In 1981, she made her debut at London's Royal Festival Hall, supporting American singer Vic Damone, and was named Vocalist Of The Year.

The McCallum Theatre presents the all new annual edition of "It's Magic!" on Sunday, February 17, at 3:00pm. For this year's "It's Magic!", producers Milt Larsen and Terry Hill have gathered stars of magic who are international magic award winners, headliners in Las Vegas, and who have performed on television and internationally.

Throughout her illustrious career, Tony Award-winning actress Bernadette Peters has dazzled audiences and critics with her performances on stage and television, in concert, and on recordings. The McCallum Theatre presents Bernadette Peters, with Marvin Laird, Musical Director, today, January 24, at 8:00pm.

Two of McCallum Theatre's favorite artists join forces for the first time to present an unforgettable evening of music on Friday, February 15, at 8:00pm, and Saturday, February 16, at 8:00pm. Accompanied by a 7-piece band inspired by Louis Prima, with music ranging from the Great American Songbook to the music of the James Bond and "Mad Men" era,Michael Feinstein and Storm Large will present a performance of "Shaken and Stirred - Classic Songs Reimagined" with brilliant singing and amusing anecdotes.

Producer, composer, keyboardist and vocalist, Sergio Mendes is one of the most internationally successful Brazilian artists of all time. His hit single 'Mas Que Nada' is the first Portuguese language song to ever hit Billboard's U.S. Pop chart and Mendes' signature mix of bossa nova and samba and distinctive pop instrumentation have ultimately come to define Brazilian music.The McCallum Theatre and Jim "FITZ" Fitzgerald co-present Sergio Mendes today, January 23, at 8:00pm as part of the Fitz's Jazz Cafe at the McCallum series.

The McCallum Theatre presents Murphy's Celtic Legacy on Wednesday, February 13, at 8:00pm. This is no ordinary Irish Dance performance - it is a battle of styles, a clash of colors. The cast ofMurphy's Celtic Legacy gives an invigorating performance of traditional Irish dance.  Featuring dancers and musicians from Riverdance, Lord of the Dance and Celtic Woman, Murphy's Celtic Legacy is the next generation Irish dance spectacular.  Created by Chris Hannon, former principal dancer for Lord of the Dance, Murphy's Celtic Legacy features original choreography combining traditional Irish and modern dance techniques presented with song and live music.
