Theatre 29 Announces Cast For 75th Anniversary Production Of OKLAHOMA!

Theatre 29 proudly announces primary casting for the spring production of the 2019 20th Anniversary season, "Oklahoma!". Helmed by the team of multi award-winning Artistic Director Charles Harvey and Musical Director Kathryn Ferguson and Choreographer Robyn Rogers, this tale of star-crossed lovers, a charming cowboy and a winsome farmer's daughter in the wild frontier of what will become America's 46th state in the early twentieth century will take the stage for four weeks beginning March 8th through 31st.

Celebrating its 75th anniversary: Rodgers & Hammerstein's first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today. Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant OKLAHOMA!

In the role of charming cowboy Curly McClane is award-winning actor Scott Clinkscales. The winsome farmer's daughter he pursues, Laurey Williams, is played by McKenna Saneschale. Under the watchful eye of wise Aunt Eller, played by Shelly Sheckler, their romance is the heart-beat of the story. Also keeping an eye on Laurey is the dark, growly Jud Fry, played by Isreal Ruiz. Zealously boy friendly Ado Annie Carnes is played by Grace Rodriguez. Rope maestro and bronco busting cowboy, Will Parker is played by Gabe Bateman. Ado Annie has a problem where she "cain't say no" to fellers who talk purty, like hapless peddler Ali Hakim, played by Joe Rego. Merchant's daughter with an unforgettable laugh, Gertie Cummings, is played by Kylie Robinson.

Ado Annie's daddy, "Pa" Carnes, is the ideal of a shot-gun toting papa and is played by Cruz Jimenez. Ron Bottorff plays the rancher Ike Skidmore, with Cathy Inscore playing his wife and Barry Inscore playing Territory Marshall Cord Elam. In the dance and vocal ensemble, Ariel Montes will be dancing as "Dream" Laurey in the ballet dream sequence, supported by the ladies of the territory: Leigh-Ann Crummett, Anna Carnes, Carly Bateman, Katelyn Coleman. The Cowboys and the Farmers are represented by Kevin Myers, Adonai Patu, Josiah Ruiz, Matthew Ornelaz-Perez, and Noah Wahlberg.

Director Charles Harvey says, "Oklahoma is what a Broadway musical is all about, a timeless story, beautiful music and the energy and vivacity of the dance, that will have your leaving the theatre with a song in your heart and a tap in your toes".

"OKLAHOMA!" will play Friday and Saturday evenings beginning March 8th at 7:00PM as well as Sunday matinees at 2:30PM through the 31st.
