On September 14-15 at 8:00 pm, the NITWITS will once again amaze Newnan Theatre Company audiences with their on-the-spot improvisations.

New “half-wit” William Pratesi, well known to NTC audiences for leading roles in recent productions, has been learning the improv craft and will make his NITWIT debut. Enduring Star award winner Jeff Allen is being reintroduced as a NITWIT. The rest of the cast are old favorites: Drew Turner, Justin Jessel, Melanie Carrin, Beth Lyons, Daniel Lees, Susan Patterson, Mary Caroline Moore, Tony Daniel, and Robbie Kirkland.

The ticket price for the Friday night show is just $2.50. This time the NITWITS are using the “long form” of improv as opposed to multiple games. “We’ll get the setup from the audience and then be doing about 30 minutes of a game, similar to a sitcom,” said Robbie Kirkland, the NITWITS director.  “We’ll all have a character throughout the story.”

The Saturday night performance, however, will consist of two full acts, with ten games in each act. The ticket price for this longer show is still a bargain at $5.00.

Drew Turner will be the host for both September shows.

The next two NITWITS performances are scheduled for October 3 and 4, with Melanie Carrin as host. The host plans the show and interacts with the audience, getting instructions from them and explaining each game. “Since Drew and Melanie not in these first two shows, I thought it would be better if they put them together,” said Kirkland. “Justin Jessel did a great job as host for our August 3-4 show.”
