Asperger's Are Us is funny. More than funny: Hilarious.

That has to be mentioned first, because it can sometimes be obscured by the fact that the four-man sketch troupe... is, in their words, 'the first comedy troupe consisting of openly autistic people.'

As Part of the Dad's Garage Commitment to Diversity of Voices, We're Bringing in this Awesome Group from the Northeast for a Night of Sketch and Improv Jamz. These rad dudes show the power of comedy to bring everyone together, regardless of how we naturally communicate. This show is not about poking fun at Aspberger's or Autism, but instead showing how improv and comedy can be a common language.

But don't take this press release's words for it, take these awesome reviews:

"[Their sketches] often consist of precisely worded, dark, observational comedy balanced with absurd humor. Even when there is no mention of Asperger's, sketches often play off the affectlessness associated with their diagnosis, mixing up objects and people in bizarre combinations. It's smart, weird, deadpan humor at its best." -CultureMap Austin

"I think this is one of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time. It was fantastic from the beginning to the end" - GeekScholars review of Duplass Brothers Productions' forthcoming documentary Asperger's Are Us.

Founded in 1995, Dad's Garage Theatre Company has grown from a small volunteer led organization to a thriving mid-size theatre led by professional artistic and administrative staff that includes over 300 volunteers and performers. We now entertain more than 33,000 people each year in Atlanta, at public events across the state, and at improv festivals across the continent. In addition to outrageous original productions, Dad's Garage produces improv shows year-round, educates young improvisers in a high school outreach program, and facilitates classes and workshops for the general public.

Our Mission: Dad's Garage engages, cultivates and inspires artists and audiences alike by producing innovative, scripted and improvised works that are recognized locally, nationally and internationally for being undeniably awesome.
