The Daily Mail reports that Simon Russell Beale and Mark Strong will lead the cast for Radio 4's new drama VICTORY, helmed by Richard Eyre and based on Harold Pinter's screenplay adaptation of Joseph Conrad's 1915 novel.

VICTORY "tells the tale of a Nordic baron who searches for peace in the Dutch East Indies. Once there, he becomes involved with a member of an all-female band, but the affair exposes him to much danger."

Pinter originally planned on shooting the film in the '80s, but costs halted production.

Beale, who makes a small appearance in the upcoming Into the Woods film and currently appears in Showtime's Penny Dreadful, has starred in the West End in King Lear, The Hothouse, Collaborators, Deathtrap, Monty Python's Spamalot and Candide, as well as Jumpers on Broadway. He also appeared off-Broadway in Bluebird in 2011. Up next is Temple at the Donmar this summer.

Strong has appeared on the big screen in John Carter, Robin Hood, Zero Dark Thirty, Green Lantern, Kick-Ass, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Young Victoria, the TV series Our Friends in the North and more.
