Its first time ever at Music Circus, the sizzling, sexy Kander and Ebb smash hit Chicago is the final show of the 2013 Music Circus season, with an extended run at the Wells Fargo Pavilion from August 20 - 29. The 1996 revival of this hit musical, one of the cornerstones of the choreographic Broadway legacy of Bob Fosse, won 6 Tony Awards and is still running on Broadway. With a plot centered on murderesses Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, on death row together fighting for the fame that may keep them from the gallows, the show features a number of popular songs including "All That Jazz," "Razzle Dazzle" and "Cell Block Tango." This Music Circus premiere of Chicago features a number of Broadway veterans who have performed in the show on Broadway and on tour. Brenda Braxton, a Tony-nominated actress who has appeared inChicago, Smokey Joe's Cafe and Dreamgirls on Broadway, will play the role of Velma Kelly. Lindsay Roginski will star as Roxie Hart, a role she played on both national and international tours. Playing Billy Flynn, a role he played on Broadway, will be stage and screen star Tom Hewitt, whose performance as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 2000 revival of The Rocky Horror Show garnered him a Tony Award nomination. Ric Stoneback of Broadway's 1776 and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer will appear as Amos Hart. C. Newcomer, who performed in Chicago on Broadway, will take the stage as Mary Sunshine. Playing the role of Matron Mama Morton will be Broadway veteran Roz Ryan, whose Broadway credits include Chicago,Dreamgirls and Ain't Misbehavin', and who is also known for her role as Amelia on the sitcom "Amen."

Directing this production of Chicago is Ron Kellum, a seasoned director, producer, choreographer and performer with extensive stage and screen experience. Choreographer is Randy Slovacek, who has choreographed across the country including the national touring company of Hello Dolly!, starring Carol Channing. Musical Director is Darren Ledbetter, who has extensive Broadway, touring Broadway and regional theater experience.

Music Circus is produced under the leadership of California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale and Executive Producer Scott Klier. California Musical Theatre President and CEO is Richard Lewis.
