AVENUE Q RETURNS TO DENVER

FOR A LIMITED ENGAGEMENT

MARCH 11-13 ONLY

AVENUE Q is the smash-hit Broadway musical about life in New York City, as told by a cast of people and puppets through a hilariously irreverent, Tony-winning book and score. The three-time Tony Award winning musical will return to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House for five performances this weekend (March 11-13).

AVENUE Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who moves to NYC
with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on
Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable
relationship, and a "purpose." Eventually, Princeton learns to embrace the ups and downs of
city life and realizes that "the real world" isn't so bad, after all.

When a show is on tour for several years and goes through several casting changes, one has to wonder how good it will be. This was the concern I had going into the theater tonight.  For its many years on the road, this touring production was one of the freshest I've ever seen.  The cast did such a superb job and kept the audience laughing throughout the entire show.  While watching the production, I realized that this musical is timeless and will be around for several more years to come and I couldn't be happier.  I am kicking myself that it has taken so long for me to see this musical (cause I adore it) and this tour did not disappoint!  I must also thank some very special ladies of mine who got me fabulous seats!

This wonderful and talented cast includes - Kerri Brackin (Mrs. T. & Various), Ashley Eileen Bucknam (Kate Monster, Lucy), David Colston Corris (Princeton, Rod), Lisa Helmi Johanson (Christmas Eve), Tim Kornblum (Brian), Michael Liscio Jr. (Nicky, Trekkie Monster), and Anita Welch (Gary Coleman).

AVENUE Q features music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty,
based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx; and is directed by Jason
Moore; puppet design by Rick Lyon, orchestrations by Stephen Oremus, choreography by
Ken Roberson, scenic design by Anna Louizos, costume design by Mirena Rada, lighting
design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Lew Mead; associate director is Evan Ensign
and music supervisor is Andrew Graham.
