New Hampshire Theatre Project is delighted to welcome back Nancy Saklad, associate professor of performance theatre at the State University of New York in New Paltz, to once againpresent her workshop Acting with the Felt Sense on July 27 and 29. Intended for serious actors working to perfect their craft, Acting with the Felt Sense guides the actor to embody the richness and dimensionality of a character under imaginary circumstances. This technique, which derives from philosopher Eugene Gendlin's Focusing work, has been adapted for the actor's use by Nancy Saklad. The power of the technique comes from its ability to access the actor's creativity and engagement in the moment through deeply felt sensations (known as felt sense.)

Participants must come prepared with a one-minute memorized monologue. All levels are welcome to participate in the introductory workshop on Monday, July 27. The Wednesday, July 29 session will be focused toward mature, professionally trained actors. Participation is only by permission of the instructor.

For more information or to register, please contact NHTP artistic director Genevieve Aichele, 603-431-6644 ext. 2, gen@nhtheatreproject.org
