NBC New York 4 reports that actor Michael McKean has been struck by a car on the Upper West Side.

According to sources, McKean, 64, was struck by a car this afternoon, May 22, at 86th Street and Broadway. He sustained a broken leg and facial lacerations and has been taken to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital.

McKean currently stars in Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN revival on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. He also appeared in Broadway's Superior Donuts, The Homecoming, The Pajama Game, Hair, Hairspray and Accomplice. Off-Broadway, McKean has starred in King Lear, Our Town, A Second Hand Memory and more. McKean is well known for playing Lenny on "Laverne & Shirley" and David St. Hubbins in "This Is Spinal Tap."
