Laurie Waugh to Direct FAMILY MATTERS Premiere at American Theatre of Actors

Laurie Rae Waugh directs the premiere of FAMILY MATTERS at the American Theatre of Actors (part of a three-production series).

Laurie Rae Waugh's star is on the rise. The gritty New York director known for her realistic and unapologetic takes on family and relationship dramas will end the American Theatre of Actors' 40th Season with Family Matters by Irving A Greenfield running Wed - Sat. May 18 - 21 and May 25 - 28 @ 8pm; with Sunday matinees on May 22 & 29 @ 3pm.

The play concerns a fueding brother & sister who, as they enter the end of their lives, attempt to reconcile age-old memories of dark times and a painful past. Irving A Greenfield's semi-autobiographical drama explores how blurring the past can warp the future. Ms. Waugh imbues the piece with clever moments of humor as two sides of the same story are exposed. Ken Coughlin stars in this study of sibling dichotomy over a "less-than-perfect mother."

Family Matters features Ken Coughlin as Ira; with Valerie O'Hara, Amy Losi, and Stephanie Schwartz and the American Theatre of Actors is located at 314 W 54th St, New York City.

Ms. Waugh then moves to the Midtown International Theatre Festival with ELLEN AND TROY AND ELOISE by Warren Paul Glover, in July and returns directly after to the ATA to open their 41st season with MIRRORS by Steve Silver.
