By popular demand, the New Jersey debut of Hedwig and the Angry Inch will return to Asbury Park, the home of New Jersey rock 'n' roll. The cult-popular, glam-rock performance will return to the historic Baronet Theatre, 205 4th Ave., next door to the Fastlane and Asbury Lanes, starting Saturday evening, June 2nd, for a special midnight performance, and continue with scheduled dates throughout the summer for an unlimited, open-ended run. The show is presented by In Good Company, in association with the Baronet Theatre, in their first musical endeavor. Opening weekend, June 2 & 3, will be a special part of Jersey Pride, where $1 of every ticket will be donated.

To match the excitement, one of the country's most popular stars of Hedwig, Aaron Berk, will bring his sought-after and mind-blowing performance to Asbury Park. Well-known for his Washington, Syracuse, and Rochester appearances of Hedwig, he recently appeared off-Broadway in Shockheaded Peter and the recent Rags concert, three European tours of Hair, and Riff Raff in the 25th Anniversary production of The Rocky Horror Show in Europe.

"This groundbreaking Obie-winning Off-Broadway smash also won multiple awards for its hit 2001 film adaptation, starring John Cameron Mitchell. It tells the story of 'internationally ignored song stylist' Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing, East German, rock 'n' roll goddess, who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation. This outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is performed by Hedwig in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine, backed by the hard-rocking band "The Angry Inch," state press notes.

"The Angry Inch" is comprised of back-up man Yitzhak (rocker Bre Cade of the Jersey Shore, with appearances in The Rocky Horror Show, HAIR, Little Shop of Horrors, The Wiz, Godspell, and more), keys/rhythm guitarist Skszp (Steven "Squiggy" Minutillo of the popular NJ jam band, One-Eyed Jack), lead guitarist Krzyzhtoff (Billy Horn, Buffalo-based rock musician, actor, and playwright), bassist Jacek (Stephen Petry, NJ-based multi-instrumentalist), and Schlatko on the drums (Michael Lapp, NJ/NYC musician and improv performer). Anthony D'Amato (Hair at NJ's Count Basie Theatre), NJ-based soul-rock vocalist and professional actor, will direct the entire production.

Tickets for Hedwig and the Angry Inch are general admission, $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Opening weekend, June 2 & 3 will be a special part of JERSEY PRIDE, where $1 of every ticket will be donated. Currently scheduled performances are June 2nd at MIDNIGHT, June 3, 16, 30, and July 7 at 8PM, with more being added. More information on special events, appearances, and afterparties will be available through the Baronet Theatre by calling (732) 807-3317, or online at www.myspace.com/hedwigasburypark.
