Glory Crampton announces the official release of her first, solo CD UNUSUAL WAY (Jay Records, December 2010, 605288141829, $17), www.glorycrampton.com/UnusualWayCD  (site includes select song, photograph and video links), a compilation of classic Broadway hits as well as contemporary songs, recorded with The National Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, England. UNUSUAL WAY is a singularly romantic gift for the Holidays or any time.  This CD highlights the critically acclaimed Broadway actress and soprano's favorite works by composers who have influenced her career over the years, including:

"Pie Jesu" (Requiem), with the London Men's Chorus, a beloved Holiday composition;

"A Grand Night for Singing" (State Fair);
"All I Ask of You" (The Phantom of the Opera), Duet with Bjorn Olsson;

"Unusual Way" (Nine);
"Show Me" (My Fair Lady);
"Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), and much more.

The New York Times has declared about Ms. Crampton: "When one comes up with a singing actress as sensual, indigenously right and mellifluously wonderful as Glory Crampton . . . one can easily get used to wonders."  She is also featured on the recently released recording of Andrew Lloyd Webbers' All the Love I Have.

A veteran of over thirty productions, Ms. Crampton created the role of "Christine" in the highly acclaimed Phantom (a musical based on the "Phantom of the Opera" legend), written by Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit, who created the Broadway musicals Titanic and the recent musical film, Nine. Crampton is featured on the original cast recording of Phantom, which is one of the highest-selling musical recordings in the United States. In reviewing the show, The New York Times said, "Glory Crampton has a glittering, silvery soprano...an angel's voice exquisite in every detail."

That voice stood her in good stead when Crampton was hand picked by opera great Jose Carreras (of the "Three Tenors") to duet with him in sold-out concert performances of selections from West Side Story at Radio City Music Hall with The Orchestra of St. Luke's. Her talents again took her to the top when Ms. Crampton was selected by Robert Goulet to co-star opposite him in the national tour and New York City production of the long-running audience favorite The Fantasticks. A critics' darling, Ms. Crampton has starred in productions, including My Fair Lady (with Charles Shaughnessy), Camelot (with George S. Irving/Brent Barrett) and Carousel (with Eddie Bracken). Recently Ms. Crampton starred in Guys and Dolls (with Tony Award-winner, Christian Hoff, and television's Richard Kind) as well as in Hello, Dolly! (with Leslie Uggams, supervised by composer Jerry Herman). She has performed in numerous concerts including a recent personal appearance singing for The Royal Crown Prince of Luxembourg, and the United States Ambassador to Luxembourg as well as making several appearances for world renowned dignitaries at the United Nations in New York City. In December 2009, Ms. Crampton was the guest artist at legendary composer Irving Berlin's home in Manhattan, singing his globally celebrated music for his family and friends.
