According to the NY Times, producers have confirmed that a fully reworked version of FLASHDANCE, which opened in the West End in 2010, is headed to Broadway in Fall 2012. Producer Thomas Viertel told NYT: "We felt we'd learned enough from the London production to re-work the show substantially and then perhaps take it out on tour, but then we did a table reading of the new script this fall and felt we had the makings of a solid Broadway show. It was a Lazarus-like moment."

Broadway veteran Sergio Trujillo will direct and choreograph the project, which is set for New York readings this winter before an out-of-town tryout.
